Miss Melody
Melody took dance lessons locally from the age of 4 and was heavily involved with the local amateur theatre scene as a youngster. After completing an art foundation degree at Staffordshire University she trained for 3 years on a professional Performance and Teaching course at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool. After graduating Melody danced professionally, enjoying a variety of dance contracts which allowed her to visit amazing places and make lots of new friends along the way.
She has taught dance for the last 20 years in a variety of settings, from private dance studios to high schools. Melody also regularly assesses students on the bbodance teaching qualification courses. Melody has been a massive part of Steelworks since 1999. She is an extremely dedicated and experienced teacher and we are very lucky to have her working with us.
Melody says … “ I absolutely love my job as principal of Steelworks College. No two days are the same which always keeps me on my toes. The talent, commitment and success of our students inspires me to keep doing what I do, bringing real job satisfaction. Another important aspect of my job is that I am continuing to learn and develop too. A teacher’s training never ends”
